The Letter of St. Paul to the Hebrews Chapter 5

The Letter of St. Paul

to the

Hebrews

Chapter

5

¹ Every high priest chosen from among mortals is put in charge of things pertaining to God on their behalf, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.

(The Letter of St. Paul to the Hebrews Chapter 5 verse 1)

Oh God, my blessed Father, according to verse 1 the role of the Pope, Archbishops and Priests are only to take part in duties and roles pertaining to God and not be involved in issues of Politics as is the case in Malta. As a consequence, a lot of people had decided to abstain from going for mass and are still rejecting the Church for having had done so. I pray for the healing of such people so that they can return to Your body on earth and be an active participant in the Church Amen.

² He is able to deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is subject to weakness; ³ and because of this he must offer sacrifice for his own sins as well as for those of the people.

(The Letter of St. Paul to the Hebrews Chapter 5 verses 2 to 3)

Oh God, my beloved Father, I thank You for being so gentle and caring. I thank You for taking the burden of our sins on Yourself and offering Yourself to be sacrificed on our behalf. There is no greater love than this Amen.

⁴ And one does not presume to take this honor, but takes it only when called by God, just as Aaron was.

(The Letter of St. Paul to the Hebrews Chapter 5 verse 4)

Oh God my beloved Father, even though I was called personally by You, the people in Your Church denied me the opportunity of living the consecrated life or the vows of Holy Orders, however, I consecrate my life totally to You and whatever You want from me Amen.

⁵ So also Christ did not glorify himself in becoming a high priest, but was appointed by the one who said to him, "You are my Son, today I have begotten you"; ⁶ as he says also in another place, "You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek."

(The Letter of St. Paul to the Hebrews Chapter 5 verses 5 to 6)

Oh God, my Father, I pray that You again anoint me as one of Your many sons, for I feel rejected and alone. I would like to feel that I belong to You, that we have that Father and son relationship Amen.

⁷ In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.

(The Letter of St. Paul to the Hebrews Chapter 5 verse 7)

Oh God my Father, as a sinner I also offer my prayers cries happiness and even my moments of stress because I know that You always listen to my prayers and that they are never in vain. Amen.

Although he was a Son, he learned Obedience through what he suffered; ⁹ and having been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him, ¹⁰ having been designated by God a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.

(The Letter of St. Paul to the Hebrews Chapter 5 verses 8 to 10)

Oh God, my beloved Father, I would like to be like You, to learn through obedience, and to grow by means of it. Amen.

¹¹ About this we have much to say that is hard to explain, since you have become dull in understanding. ¹² For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic elements of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food

(The Letter of St. Paul to the Hebrews Chapter 5 verses 11 to 12)

Oh God my beloved and loving Father, even though I have been praying on the Bible since the year 2003 I am still a baby in the Word of God and still need further instruction. I thank You for the Community' Jesus  Saviour of which I am a member and by which You teach me many things about Yourself and Your Word Amen. I thank You for sending such Apostles and teachers in my life Amen.

¹³ for everyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is unskilled in the word of righteousness. ¹⁴ But solid food is for the mature, for those whose faculties have been trained by practice to distinguish good from evil.

(The Letter of St. Paul to the Hebrews Chapter 5 verses 13 to 14)

Oh God, my Father, I pray that You be my spiritual and physical nutritionist. I pray that You feed me with the correct type of scripture and food that is according to my spiritual and physical development Amen.

Oh God my loving and caring Father, today is a very important day in my life. Today is the day when I say Good Bye to my old life and say hello to my new life, which is found in You my God and Father. Now that my marital status will be changed from that of married to separated I pray that You continue to help me mature in the Word of God and even as an individual on a spiritual, social and even psychological level Amen
